From the 18th to the 20th of November I was able to gain insights into the intersection of Quantum Physics in academia and industry on a European level throughout the European Quantum Technologies Conference (EQTC) 2024 in Lisbon (Portugal 🇵🇹).
This conference featured an immersive programme of talks, parallel sessions, lunch presentations, panel discussions and workshops. In total over 40 academic experts, industry leaders and political representatives contributed to the success of this event. This variety in participants provided a multidimensional view onto the currently ongoing Quantum Revolution 2.0.
One of my key learnings throughout this conference was how European quantum collaborations are organized and funded. I was able to gain insights into pilot lines, standards, benchmarks, and venture capital opportunities. It was very inspiring to see the development of our inclusive European quantum ecosystem and the inclusive and innovative community that is associated with these developments.
